TRAVEL MORE OFTEN: THE BENEFITS TRAVELING HAS ON YOUR MIND, BODY, SPIRIT AND LIFESTYLE

All throughout the news, we see the encouragement from different stations regarding the perks, benefits and different reasons why you should travel abroad. There are many beautiful places to see and great interesting things to learn about.

In a recent study posted by NBC News, they listed five scientifically proven health benefits of traveling abroad and why it is encouraged. In this article, there was a joint study between the Global Commission on Aging and Transamerica Center for Retirement Studies. They stated that travel makes you healthier. The study found that a woman who vacations twice a year at most show a significantly lower risk of suffering a heart attack than a woman who travel only about every 6 years. This is also true for men. Men who do not take an annual vacation show a 20 percent higher risk of death and a 30 percent greater risk of heart disease.

5 reasons traveling abroad is seriously good for your health

When was the last time you traveled abroad? Traveling for business is one thing, but I'm talking about packing your bags, logging out of your email account and disconnecting from your normal routine for a week or more.

In a recent article posted by Forbes, according to the US Travel Association, staying active and traveling through life has physical, cognitive and social benefits that lead to a healthier aging process. Even if you aren’t so active, traveling offers you the opportunity to discover new things that may interest you and change your perspective. While on vacation, it is very common that families go on long walks together, whether it be down the beach or up a mountain, it gives the opportunity to be healthy. They increase their heart rate by swimming in the pool or ocean or even taking an offered class by the resort in the morning.

Hotels and resorts are now encouraging personal fitness while traveling. The Hyatt Hotels and Resorts have recently launched a program called STAYFIT@HYATT. This program is for guests who want to stay fit during their stay. There is high quality cardio and strength-training equipment involved, a fitness concierge and even a YogaAway™ Curriculum Encourage “Survival of the Fittest” on the road provided for the guests.

While traveling, it is important to branch out and learn about the people around you. Who they are, what they do and what they are about. In a YouTube video called “3 Reasons on Why Traveling Abroad Will Have A Huge Impact On Your Life” by STAMPABOUT, Jake talks about how culture is the number one reason to travel abroad. He says,

“We learn how people live and work and have fun and we become more open-minded and we have a broader perspective so that when we come back home, we’re less judgmental and more understanding of the people around us which fill us with more love than hate allowing us to live a happier life.”

It is important to respect instead of judge different cultures, because learning to appreciate them not only expands your mind, but your willingness to search deeper into your travels.

A BuzzFeed video called, “11 Ways Going Abroad Will Change Your Life,” it mentions that you do not have to sit at a desk to learn. This is important because most things you learn are from participating in hands-on activities where in school you sit and watch a professor read slides off of a projector screen.
